Here in Cleveland, we believe in progress, prosperity and that the power to make change is in all of us for a better future for all of us. Tawayne believes everyone deserves safe neighborhoods, access to quality education, good jobs, and a vibrant, thriving community to call home.
That spirit of determination and resilience runs deep in Cleveland—just like in the neighborhoods of Collinwood and Glenville where Tawayne McGee has lived his entire life. As a lifelong resident, Tawayne knows firsthand the challenges and the incredible potential of our city. His roots in Cleveland fuel his passion to serve and uplift our community every day.
Tawayne is more than a community member, he’s a dedicated human rights activist and a fierce fighter for Black and Brown rights. He’s committed to ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard and that justice is accessible to all. As a proud Clevelander, he works tirelessly to support policies that promote equality, fairness, and opportunities for all!
He’s also a strong supporter of the ongoing battles at Cleveland State University, standing with students who are fighting for their rights against administrative challenges, such as the termination of the student-run radio station WCSD and the removal of UPass. Tawayne believes that education is a cornerstone of our community’s future, and he supports efforts to make college accessible, affordable, and equitable for every student, while also creating an environment that nurtures and supports students’ passions.
But today, Cleveland and Ohio face challenges. Wages aren’t keeping up with the rising cost of living. Our neighborhoods need investment, and our families deserve a voice in the halls of power. That’s why Tawayne is running, to be a voice for the people, to fight for fair wages, quality education, and a future where every Clevelander/Ohioans can thrive.
He’s committed to working for the community, standing up for human rights, and making sure that Cleveland remains a city where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Together, we can build a stronger, more just Cleveland, one where our neighborhoods, families, and future generations are prioritized and celebrated for who they are!
