Dear Community Members,

I want to begin by expressing my deepest gratitude for your time, support, and engagement throughout this demanding yet meaningful election season. As a human rights advocate, my unwavering commitment is to stand in defense of every individual, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, or racial identity. When injustice occurs, I believe there are many of us willing to unite and take action to bring about positive change.

This campaign has never been about personal ambition; it has always been about the people of Ohio, particularly the residents of Cleveland. As a dedicated member of the Collinwood community, I have witnessed firsthand the stagnation that has persisted in our district under long-standing governance. Our state government has drifted away from serving the interests of the people and has instead become insular, prioritizing personal agendas over the needs of our communities. It is past time that we reclaim our power and demand accountability.

To effectively address the challenges facing our statehouse, we need a government that is functional, diverse, and genuinely representative of the people. I acknowledge that I am not the right person at this moment to fulfill that role. Personal circumstances have impacted my judgment, and I believe that anyone seeking to represent Ohio’s 20th District must possess the mental clarity and resilience necessary to build a better Ohio for everyone.

Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to suspend my campaign for Ohio State Representative of District 20. I sincerely hope that the current candidates stay true to their commitments and focus on critical issues such as education, funding and resources, employment, racial equity, and healthcare for all.

Our state is fortunate to have dedicated leaders, but now is the time to prioritize the needs of the people, to fight for justice, and to cast votes that serve the collective good—above corporate interests and special agendas.

Finally, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to my campaign team— Mr. Juan Collado Diaz, Ms. Cathe Caraway, Ms. Teralawanda Aaron, Ms. Moneak Jo, and Mr. Ed Barkley. Your unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in shaping this vision. Once again, I am sincerely grateful for your dedication and effort.
